The customer

A love of the product, tradition and, above all, quality - these are the ingredients for good bread from BrotHaus. The artisan bakery operates around 60 locations in the greater Nuremberg area.

As Deputy General Sales Manager, Sebastian Becher is jointly responsible for the operational management of all branches. Together with General Sales Manager Dirk Nickolaus, he is responsible for the regional managers, who are responsible for managing the individual specialist stores in their regions. The digitalization of workflows and processes in his area of activity is particularly important to him.

The challenge

Sebastian and Dirk, together with their team, ensure that all sales locations are managed efficiently and that sales generate a profit after deducting all costs.

With around 60 specialist stores, keeping an overview and paying attention to all locations at all times can quickly become a challenge. BrotHaus uses a system with various key figures for this purpose. This allows not only the locations with the biggest problems to be identified, but also the problems themselves (e.g. turnover too low, personnel costs too high, returns rate too high).

It is important that the most important analyses and reports are available in a clear and comprehensible manner with minimal effort and in the shortest possible time. The software systems used (e.g. cash register system, PEP or merchandise management) can provide all the figures, but not at the speed and in the desired graphical format with the resulting recommendations for action.

The high demands of BrotHaus meant that it took a lot of time to filter the data and view it from different perspectives. This often led to excessive demands and frustration among employees. This made it difficult for Sebastian's team and his regional managers to quickly identify potential for action in the specialist stores and react to changes in customer sales behavior in good time.
